The Union Township Public Library’s Anti-Slavery Collection contains materials that document the struggle to end slavery, and Ripley’s unique history as an Underground Railroad site. The Ohio Public Library Information Network is dedicated to making sure Ohioans have access to the information they need. As well as providing internet access to Ohio’s local public libraries, OPLIN.org provides you with access to subscription databases, free online resources, and information.

Ancestry.com – The Union Township Public Library provides access to the subscription genealogy service Ancestry.com on the library’s public computers. Ancestry.com is a searchable database of birth, death, and marriage records, census and voter lists, and military service and immigration records. To access the library’s subscription, you must be using one of the public computers at the Ripley, Russellville, or Aberdeen libraries.

The Ohio E-Book Project – Use your library card from any Ohio public library to access an online library of digital media! Check out eBooks, audio books, music, video content, and more over any internet connection. The Ohio eBook Project offers mp3 and wma audio books, iPod compatible audio books and music, current fiction and nonfiction eBooks in downloadable pdf or ePub format, music, and more. Digital content can be used on your computer or mobile device during the three week lending period.
